It all started when TAMK’s Vice President, Mikko Naukkarinen and Director of Business Operations, Carita Prokki visited Beijing in January and held a presentation on the work-life oriented university of applied sciences.
The need for the visit originated from altering our university to become a place to stimulate tacit knowledge, cultivate talents in cross-fields and to integrate global education resources in a cost-effective way – with high quality.
TAMK was aware of our strong will to learn. The first meeting was memorable, they held a sum up of Tampere University of Applied Sciences that impressed me to learn more.
They invited me to visit Tampere in April and I gladly accepted. I got a chance to visit TAMK and learn more about the world-renowned Finnish education in an event called Future Education Forum.
TAMK inspired us to also educate the adults. We would like to set up an international teacher training centre at our Beijing campus. TAMK can provide us modern pedagogical skills, methods and philosophy. I also hope that there will be APEL (Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning) cooperation between our universities.
What we have planned, you already have in reality. We learned from your examples such as Proakatemia and Demola. We could open similar branches here in Beijing to increase the student-company interaction.
