TAMK’s first accreditation: Degree Programme in Energy and Environmental Engineering

13th September 2018 0 comment
The Degree Programme in Energy and Environmental Engineering was accredited in March 2018 by Karvi (The Finnish Education Evaluation Centre). This is the first accreditation made at TAMK.

A four-member international accreditation team visited TAMK for two days. Before the visit, the team had familiarised itself with the degree programme self-evaluation and other material. In Tampere, the team interviewed the degree programme management and staff, support services staff, students, alumni and stakeholders. They also visited the learning facilities at TAMK’s main campus.

The accreditation team, headed by Professor, Emeritus Mark G Richardson from the University College Dublin, Ireland, decided to accredit the degree programme upon condition. To maintain its accreditation, the degree programme has to fulfil the conditions set by the accreditation team by June 2020.

The conditions are related to e.g. expanding and elevating the learning outcomes in relation to the core competences in the field of technology. At the same time the team appreciated the learner-centred implementation of the programme as well as the physical and virtual learning infrastructure at TAMK.
