Students from Tampere3* universities are divided into teams for the assignments set by companies. Even though students do all the heavy lifting, they receive support and guidance from both InnoEvent coaches and the company representatives throughout the project. The InnoEvent week culminates on Friday night at a gala, where the students get to present their product ideas to the companies, and finally a jury awards prizes to the best ones.
InnoEvent Tampere is already an established tradition – the first one was organised back in 2013, making 2017 the fifth year. The InnoEvent week is a great opportunity for students to test their own limits, have fun, and create important connections for the future.
Companies and cases for this year will be published on InnoEvent’s website.
Picture: The winning team of last year’s InnoEvent was Agrimat, which visualised to Valmet how old paper machines could be reused in other fields. Michael Lundorff-Hansen (in front), who developed the InnoEvent in Denmark, encouraged students to commercialise their innovations.
Tampere will introduce a new model of operation in 2019. The new Tampere University Foundation will merge the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology and it will become the major owner of TAMK.
